The Erickson School is located on the campus of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), an honors university distinguished in liberal arts, research and technology.
UMBC is located 15 minutes from Baltimore's Inner Harbor, four miles from BWI Airport and 45 minutes from Washington, D.C. The greater capitol region is home to nearly all federal agencies, including the Social Security Agency and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services just miles from UMBC.
The nearby towns of Catonsville (Frederick Road) and Arbutus (East Drive) have retail districts with a variety of small shops and services. Ellicott City, 10 minutes away, is an historic mill town with excellent antique shops. Arundel Mills Mall, 15 minutes away, offers shopping, entertainment and restaurants.

The Erickson School is a convenient drive away from Washington, D.C.'s government, scientific and technical agencies including the National Institute of Health and the National Institute for Aging.
UMBC is in the center of the Baltimore-Washington corridor, with easy access to Philadelphia and New York.
