With the degree from Erickson School, you can get an education that does more than help find you a job—it builds your career. We offer a unique interdisciplinary major that prepares you for a rewarding career in non-profit, public, and private sector organizations that address the aging process and the ongoing revolution of society’s view on aging.
Many people label this natural process as a decline into “old age.” This is not a program about “old age” research or “old age” studies. It is about becoming an extension of one of the largest demographics, and helping them continue to thrive as they age.
The possibilities are virtually limitless. In addition to core courses, we encourage you to build the major that is right for you by specializing in your area of interest. Independent study and special topic courses are offered along with internship and research assistant opportunities.
Other students may wish to combine a minor is Management of Aging Services with a number of traditional Liberal Arts programs offered at UMBC.
